West Bromwich Albion midfielder James McClean has been given a signed Celtic shirt by Kieran Tierney.

James McClean has taken to Twitter to thank Kieran Tierney after the Celtic star sent the West Bromwich Albion winger a signed shirt.

McClean is a well-known fan of the Hoops, frequently using his social media accounts to comment on the Bhoys’ fortunes as they continue to impress under Brendan Rodgers.

And he posted a picture on his Twitter account on Monday of a present that Tierney had sent him, seemingly from Celtic’s Champions League group-stage clash with Bayern Munich last week.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, many of the tweets that have been sent by Celtic fans in response to McClean’s initial message to the defender have urged the winger to move to Parkhead in the future.

And while it may not actually happen – there is no reason to believe that Celtic would actually be interested or could make a deal happen if McClean became available – it would certainly hardly be a surprise if the Republic of Ireland international was interested.

The 28-year-old has not featured that regularly for the Baggies this season, starting in just two of his six Premier League appearances for Tony Pulis’ side.

And if that lack of game-time continues as the season carries on, perhaps it may not be a great surprise if he looks to try and engineer a move elsewhere – and many Celtic fans would clearly love to see the winger arrive at Parkhead.
