Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Bannan and Hull City winger Snodgrass featured in Scotland’s match against Malta away from home at the National Stadium in Ta’ Qali.
It was Gordon Strachan’s side’s opening game in their 2018 World Cup Group F qualifier (UEFA).

Scotland got the better of Malta 5-1, Snodgrass scoring a hat-trick and Derby County-owned Fulham striker Chris Martin and Wednesday striker Steven Fletcher adding the other two goals.
McArthur, who has earned 24 caps for Scotland so far in his career, was impressed with the performance of Hull winger Snodgrass and Wednesday midfielder Bannan.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the National Stadium in Ta’ Qali on Sunday evening, hosts Malta had just 31% of the possession, took six shots of which only one was on target, and earned two corners, according to BBC Sport.
Visitors Scotland had 69% of the possession, took 19 shots of which seven were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.
