Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is said to be keen on signing James Maddison from Leicester City.

James Maddison’s words about winning trophies should be music to the ears of Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Too much has been made of Spurs’ failure to win any silverware in recent times, as their progress has been vast, even without any tangible success.
But there will come a time when Tottenham do need to start getting over the line in the biggest games.
Spurs’ track record in semi-finals and finals is hardly stellar, and Maddison has now shown to Pochettino that he has the perfect attitude to take the Lilywhites to the next level.
“I want to be a winner,” he said to the Guardian, ahead of representing England at the under-21 European Championships.
“At the end of your career you can look back and think: ‘Yeah, OK, a few man of the matches here and a player of the season there’ but football is a team game, not like tennis or golf when it’s for you only. It is a team game and I want to have winner’s medals at the end of it.
“The other lads have had success in tournaments. My trophy cabinet is empty at the minute. I have a few individual ones in there but there are no winner’s medals. I am desperate to win.”

Spurs have been linked with a £60 million move for the Leicester City man in The Sun, and his latest comments should make Pochettino even more keen to sign him.
Maddison’s desire to win trophies means that he is ideal for Tottenham – as that is exactly the sort of attitude that he should be looking for in potential recruits.
Spurs will make it to finals again – they are too talented not to – and Maddison’s words make him sound like a player who will step up on the big occasion.
And Maddison’s latest quotes may have just made him an even more appealing signing for Pochettino at Spurs.
