Leicester City winger James Maddison was very impressed by Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli last night, judging by his posts on Instagram.
Alli made just his second start for Tottenham in the Premier League this term yesterday, and he helped Jose Mourinho’s side to a 1-0 win.
The England international played a crucial role in helping Spurs score their first goal of the contest, as his flicked shot was deflected into the back of the net by a Fulham defender.
Maddison was quick to applaud Alli for the piece of skill during the game.
The Leicester playmaker then commented on Alli’s Instagram post, seemingly suggesting that he had silenced some of the criticism that had come his way this season with his display.
Alli, himself, also tweeted after the game – but he was just disappointed that the goal had been taken off him.
Alli has not scored for Tottenham in the Premier League for over a year now and he will surely be keen to end that drought sooner rather than later.
The 24-year-old should receive increased chances to do so between now and the end of the season too.
Mourinho spoke positively about Alli’s display after the game, and that suggests that the Tottenham man may be involved again against Crystal Palace on Sunday.
