West Ham United reportedly wanted James Maddison in January.

West Ham United may not be guaranteed of their Premier League status for next season just yet, but there may already be some plans in place for summer transfer targets.
The Hammers are in need of reinforcements this summer, but one player West Ham fans shouldn’t expect to see arriving at the London Stadium is James Maddison.
The Norwich City playmaker, 21, has taken the Championship by storm this season, notching 14 goals and eight assists in 41 Championship games in a sensational campaign.
Now, The Mirror claim that six Premier League clubs – Arsenal, Brighton, Everton, Manchester City, Southampton and Tottenham – are all keen on Maddison, with a £30million fee rumoured.

Back in January, The Guardian reported that West Ham had submitted a £12million bid for Maddison, with Norwich unsurprisingly refusing to sell their star playmaker.
West Ham may still hold an interest in Maddison, but with Champions League clubs now keen, they may well have missed their chance to land the attacking midfielder.
Maddison’s fee now looks to be more than twice the amount West Ham offered in January, and with funding from David Gold and David Sullivan unclear ahead of the summer transfer window, a move to East London looks unlikely for Maddison.
