Tottenham Hotspur playmaker James Maddison has reacted after seeing left back Destiny Udogie sign a new contract with the club.
Tottenham beat Newcastle United 4-1 on Sunday afternoon, ending a run of five games without a win.
Left back Destiny Udogie opened the scoring, bagging his first Premier League goal with a close-range finish from a Son Heung-min cross.
That was a big moment for the 21-year-old and his week has now got even better having signed a new deal at Tottenham.
Spurs have now confirmed that Udogie has committed his future to the club until 2030 having made a strong start to Premier League life.
James Maddison reacts to Destiny Udogie’s new Tottenham contract
Tottenham actually signed Udogie in 2022, paying £15million to sign him from Udinese before loaning him back to the Italian club.
Udogie finally started his Tottenham career over the summer and has adjusted to Premier League football admirably.
Now staying at Tottenham for a long, long time, Udogie has taken to Instagram to celebrate.
Udogie simply stated ‘Home, the journey continues, COYS’ as he posted a photo of his contract signing.
Tottenham teammate James Maddison responded, replying with ‘fully deserved brother, don’t spend it all at once’ – exactly the kind of response you would expect from Maddison!
Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro were also among the Spurs players to send their messages of support with Udogie’s contract extension seemingly going down well.
Paratici transfer business now looking very impressive
Tottenham appear to have a very exciting team for the future and some of Fabio Paratici’s transfer business is now looking exciting.
Udogie is a great example; a young player who is already singing in the Premier League and is now tied down at Tottenham for a long time.
Midfielder Pape Matar Sarr took a little while to get going but now looks superb and the same goes for right back Porro.
These young players appear to be loving life under Ange Postecoglou, free to express themselves going forward.
Tottenham need them to keep improving and developing, and if they do, Spurs will have a serious team for the future.
