Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder James Maddison has said that he has already spoken to three Arsenal players about the North London derby against Mikel Arteta’s side this weekend.

Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur will lock horns with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.

James Maddison, who joined Tottenham from Leicester City in the summer transfer window, is set to start the North London derby.

Maddison was on international duty with England recently.

The playmaker has said that he had banter with Arsenal trio Bukayo Saka, Aaron Ramsdale and Declan Rice when they were at the England camp.

The England international has added that Arsenal will not want to play against Tottenham now.

Maddison told Sky Sports: “If you ask the Arsenal camp, I don’t think it’s a brilliant time that they’d want to play us because we’ve started the season well.

“I had a little bit of banter with Bukayo [Saka] and Rammers [Aaron Ramsdale] and Declan [Rice] on England duty, all in good spirit, and I’m really looking forward to the game.”

The 26-year-old playmaker has scored two goals and given two assists in five Premier League matches for Spurs so far this season.
