As Newcastle United prepare to go head-to-head against Wolves on Sunday, James Huntley has been pictured in first-team training ahead of the clash.
The 19-year-old is a central midfielder by trade and is classed as one of the Magpies’ most talented up-and-coming youth prospects. Ahead of their latest 2-0 defeat to Manchester City, Alex Murphy was also seen training with the senior players, which perhaps shows that the club are encouraging youth development.
Now the same is the case with James Huntley, who has been training with the Newcastle first-team squad as they aim to return to winning ways against Wolves.
James Huntley spotted in Newcastle training ahead of Wolves clash
Over the years, the club have often been criticised for not giving their talented crop of youngsters to shine on the biggest stage, which perhaps could have been a medium for them to stay relatively competitive without having to splash the cash under Mike Ashley.

Now that the takeover has occurred, it seems like the goal at Newcastle is to elevate this process, as can be seen with prospects like James Huntley being in Newcastle training ahead of a Premier League game against an in-form Wolves side, as was spotted on Getty Images.
Golden opportunity to catch Eddie Howe’s eye
While one does not expect the teenager to be able to displace the likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Joe Willock, Sean Longstaff or Elliot Anderson, he could at least establish his presence as a first-team player.
If James Huntley manages to turn heads with his performances in training for Newcastle ahead of not just their clash against Wolves but moving forward, Eddie Howe could perhaps give him regular opportunities in and amongst the setup.
That could potentially lead to more chances in the first-team for the Englishman in an area of the pitch that is impressive but remains upgradeable even now.
