Celtic and Scotland winger James Forrest has spoken highly of club and international teammate Callun McGregor.

Celtic and Scotland international James Forrest has told The Scottish Sun that his club team-mate Callum McGregor can fire Gordon Strachan’s side to glory against Slovakia.
McGregor has developed into a key player for Brendan Rodgers’ side, and has been in good form for the Hoops so far this season.
Celtic winger James Forrest has spoken highly of the 24-year-old, who is yet to make his senior debut for Scotland. However, McGregor has been called up for Scotland’s upcoming World Cup qualifier games, due to injuries to Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong.

McGregor scored twice in Celtic’s 2-2 draw against Hibs at Celtic Park before the international break, and teammate Forrest believes that he can replicate the form for his country if given the chance.
Forrest said that McGregor has been “excellent” for Celtic this season, and praised his temperament. He pointed out that McGregor can shoot with both feet, and loves to arrive late in the box.
Forrest added that losing both Brown and Armstrong is a major blow, but Scotland have a strong squad to cope with it and get the job done.

“I think that Callum has been excellent for us,” said Forrest, as quoted by The Scottish Sun. “He had a great season last time and he has started off really well again. It’s a credit to him and he’s worked hard to get into the squad.
“I train with him every day and we play together week in, week out so I know what he can do. He’s level-headed as well so if he does get the chance to play on Thursday he’ll go about it the same way he always does.
“I see him finishing with both feet in training and he can certainly score a goal. He likes to arrive in the box late and you saw at the weekend that his two finishes were excellent.”
