Celtic’s Callum McGregor bounced back in fine style this past weekend.

Speaking to Herald Scotland, James Forrest has praised Celtic team-mate Callum McGregor for the way in which he has responded to being dropped by manager Brendan Rodgers.
Prior to last Saturday, McGregor hadn’t started any of Celtic’s last five Premiership or Champions League in a demotion which is bound to have disappointed.
However, the 24-year-old proved his class and attitude at Parkhead on the weekend with two goals in the 2-2 draw with Hibernian – including an 80th-minute equaliser which saw the Hoops preserve a 58-match unbeaten run in domestic competition.

Forrest told Herald Scotland: “All the top managers say that at international level you have to be able to keep the ball too and Callum can do that.
“He has just kept working hard and hasn’t spat the dummy out or anything like that.”
McGregor, named in the Scotland squad for World Cup qualifiers, now has five goals in eight Premiership appearances for Celtic this season and, with Scott Brown and Stuart Armstrong out injured at the moment, he is bound to get more chances to impress manager Brendan Rodgers.

The Bhoys have a huge couple of weeks ahead of them when the international break finishes.
They face Bayern Munich in the Champions League, Hibernian in the League Cup semi-final and Aberdeen in a top-of-the-table Premiership clash. McGregor might be a key figure during that period and Rodgers will be looking for the same influence as he displayed on Saturday.
