Celtic are still fending off interest in Kieran Tierney.

Celtic winger James Forrest has told The Scottish Sun that everyone in the dressing room wants Kieran Tierney to still be at the club come Friday.

Tierney, 22, has starred at left back for Celtic over the last four years, playing a key role in the historic treble treble winning side with his boyhood club.

The left back has become one of the top young left backs in Europe, and there is now major interest in his signature, which is rather unsurprising given his quality.

Arsenal have been chasing Tierney for much of the summer, but have so far been unable to convince Celtic into selling their prized asset.

The Daily Mail claimed just last week that Arsenal are now getting closer to a deal after restructuring their offer, but the move doesn’t actually seem to be any closer.

There are now just over 48 hours of the English transfer window to go, and with Arsenal spending big on Nicolas Pepe, there are real hopes that Tierney will end up staying at Parkhead.

Now, winger Forrest has suggested that everyone in the Celtic dressing room hopes that Tierney doesn’t get that Arsenal transfer, because they all want him to get back playing for the Bhoys.

Forrest feels that you can ‘ask anyone’ in the Celtic dressing room and get the same response, and added that Tierney has handled the speculation well, as he’s still working as hard as ever.

“Ask anyone in our dressing room, we all want KT to still be here,” said Forrest. “He’s been a great player for us and everyone is hoping that come Friday he is still here. We want him to get back playing for us. He came with us for pre- season and we still see him at training every day. But considering how long the talk about Arsenal has gone on, I think he’s handled it really well.”

“KT is still only 22, so he’s coped well. Every day there seems to be something new in the story. But he’s just keeping himself to himself and working hard. That’s credit to him,” he added.
