Aston Villa defender Axel Tuanzebe has finally been used at centre-back since Dean Smith took over.
Since Dean Smith has taken charge, one of his major changes has been to bring Tuanzebe in at centre-back.
Steve Bruce tended to play Tuanzebe at full-back during his time in charge, with Mile Jedinak and Chester often playing in the heart of Villa’s defence together.
But Chester is enjoying working in tandem with the Manchester United loanee.
“I have enjoyed it to this point,” Chester said. “He certainly has all the attributes to be a top player.
“He is strong, quick and comfortable on the ball.
“He is still only very young and he is only going to get better and better.
“If I can help him and he helps me, then we are hopefully at the beginning of something positive.
“It is nice to know you have that kind of pace next to you.
“If we do find ourselves in the wrong position, his pace is enough to get us out of trouble.”
Chester and Tuanzebe helped Villa keep a clean sheet in their last outing.
Smith’s side beat Bolton Wanderers 2-0, to pick up their second win in four matches under their new manager.
Villa are next in action when they take on in-form Derby County at the weekend, and Tuanzebe’s and Chester’s partnership is sure to be given a stern test.
