Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of James Bree.
James Bree’s move from Barnsley to Aston Villa has now been confirmed, and the 19-year-old right-back explained how he is relishing the prospect of playing under new manager Steve Bruce, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.
Bree is highly regarded within the game, and Villa obviously signed him with one eye on the future.
That is not to say that he won’t have an important role to play in his side’s quest for promotion this term, after impressing for Barnsley during the first half of their campaign.

And Bree shared the initial feelings he had towards Steve Bruce, when the pair met during discussions over a potential move to the Midlands outfit, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail:
“When I met him I knew straight away that he was a manager I wanted to work with. It was a tough decision to leave but it’s a massive club I’m joining. It’s a bit different to Barnsley!”

The Villans currently sit in 13th position in the Championship table, nine points adrift of the promotion play-off spots, and five points behind Bree’s former club Barnsley.
The 19-year-old has joined a club with greater potential to achieve promotion to the big time, however, and he will be hoping to play a pivotal role in Villa’s season, as they strive to force their way inside the top six.
