Leeds United have recovered magnificently from a poor start to their season, and now sit amongst the play-off spots in the Championship table.

Leeds first-team coach James Beattie shared who the hardest working players are in Garry Monk’s squad, during an interview with the club’s official website.

Beattie joined the coaching staff at Elland Road in July, and has helped his side climb to sixth in the Championship table.

The former Southampton, Everton and Sheffield United striker spoke to LUTV, and divulged the three players who apply themselves most during training sessions at the club:

“It’s probably a split between Barts, Coops and Kalvin.”

Kyle Bartley and Kalvin Phillips have been hugely important members of the Leeds side that has impressed so much over the past couple of months, while Liam Cooper’s contribution has not been quite as influential, although the fact that he has only made five Championship appearances so far this term can be attributed to injury problems.

Next up for the Whites is a huge clash against league leaders Newcastle United at Elland Road on Sunday where, incredibly, a win could take them as high as third in the table, should other results go their way.

And what a quite remarkable turnaround that would represent for Leeds, considering the pressure that Garry Monk was under after just a few games in charge of the West Yorkshire outfit.
