James Beattie has parted company with Leeds United and is expected to join Garry Monk at Middlesbrough.
James Beattie has posted a message on Twitter thanking Leeds United fans, following his exit from Elland Road.
Beattie was brought to Leeds as part of Garry Monk’s coaching team at the start of last season, and was very highly regarded by the Yorkshire club.
However, Beattie has opted to follow Monk out of Leeds and is expected to move to Middlesbrough with the 38-year-old boss.
Beattie has not spoken following Monk’s resignation, but he did post a note on social media today to confirm his exit and reflect on his time at Elland Road.
Beattie leaves Leeds with most the supporters’ best wishes, which is in stark contrast to Monk.
Monk has been under fire from Leeds fans for a supposed lack of loyalty, following his resignation.
New Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen is now expected to bring in a whole new backroom team to help him during his time with the Yorkshire club.
Beattie will return with Monk to Elland Road in November, when Middlesbrough face Leeds in Championship action.
