The 24-year-old was given a rough time by Leeds United fans earlier in the campaign.

Leeds United first-team coach James Beattie has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that the club’s fans have motivated striker Chris Wood this season.
The 24-year-old is Leeds’ leading goalscorer so far after netting seven times from 13 games in all competitions.
At the moment, Wood is a firm fan favourite among Whites fans, having netted four times in his last six outings for the Championship club.

But the New Zealand hitman was very much a divisive figure earlier in the campaign and found himself jeered by a section of supporters during the 2-1 defeat by Birmingham at Elland Road.
He responded perfectly by netting an equaliser in the following game against Fulham, when he celebrated by placing a finger to his mouth in an apparent message to Leeds fans.

And Beattie believes that the United faithful have played a big role in Wood’s individual success this season by doubting him early doors.
“They [the fans] might actually have motivated him to prove people wrong. The best thing you can do in football is do things that people say you can’t,” he told The Yorkshire Evening Post.
Garry Monk’s side, who have won four of their last five Championship games to move four points off the top six, visit Derby County on Saturday when the domestic calendar resumes.
