Leeds United and West Bromwich Albion are among the clubs reportedly interested in Portsmouth winger Jamal Lowe.
Jamal Lowe played well for Portsmouth in League One this season, and there is no surprise that the winger has been linked with Leeds United, West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough among other clubs.
According to The Daily Star, Leeds, West Brom and Middlesbrough are interested in signing Lowe from League One outfit Portsmouth in the summer transfer window.
Sky Sports have claimed of interest in the 24-year-old winger from Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic, and have suggested that Pompey value him at £2 million.
Lowe was one of the best players in League One this season, as the former Barnet winger scored 15 goals in 45 league appearances for Portsmouth, according to WhoScored.
With Portsmouth having failed to clinch promotion to the Championship, Kenny Jackett’s side could be forced to sell the winger, but the player himself seems willing to stay on at Fratton Park and help the club challenge for promotion again next season.
Lowe told The News: “Me personally, I guess it is a season to be proud of. But I do honestly think I could’ve done more, but that’s just how I am.
“I felt I could’ve done more last season and I felt the same this season. But that’s what the next season is for – to try to better the last one.”
The winger added: “We’ve got some of the highest amount of appearances in England. Full stop. That’s what happens when you play in a lot of cup competitions. We had a nice FA Cup run with some replays and won the Checkatrade. It is was it is.
“We’ve got a big squad so I’m not going to blame it on that. It could be a factor because it’s only science that if you play 20 more games than some sides they may have an advantage. But we’re not going to put it down to that. We just have to go again.”
Perhaps Leeds, West Brom, Middlesbrough, Cardiff and Wigan will have to look elsewhere for a winger.
