Newcastle United are top of the Championship heading into the festive schedule.
Jamal Lascelles has told The Chronicle that he is loving playing alongside Newcastle United team-mate Ciaran Clark.
The Newcastle duo have been centre-back partners since the end of September and have helped the Magpies to the top of the Championship.
This is Clark’s first season on Tyneside following a summer move from Aston Villa and he is proving himself quite a signing so far.

But he is perhaps only as good as the man beside him and United captain Lascelles says that has paid tribute to his team-mate.
“I think we work well off each other. Ciaran’s played in the game a long time and reads the game really well,” he told The Chronicle.
“He’s very vocal and helps me out a lot talking and organising from the back. Me and him are so loud for the team. I think it’s so important.”

Rafael Benitez’s side have quite a tricky festive schedule to contend with. They host Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day and December 30, before visitng Blackburn on January 2.
Revenge will be on the agenda for Newcastle given that Forest and Blackburn have beaten them in recent weeks, though they have since bounced back.
