Blackman broke his tibia in action for Leeds earlier this month.

Jamal Blackman has posted an update on Instagram after undergoing surgery to fix the broken tibia he sustained while turning out for Leeds United’s Under-23 side last week, stating his operation “went well”.
Leeds suffered a 3-0 loss to Birmingham City’s Under-23 side last Friday, that saw the Blues field Omar Bogle and Craig Gardner in their reserve side to take on Leeds at Thorp Arch.
The Whites were already 3-0 down when Blackman collided with Beryly Lubala in the 85th minute, fracturing his leg. He was replaced by midfielder Hugo Diaz, after second string manager Carlos Corberan had used all of his substitutes.
Director of Football Victor Orta confirmed that 25-year-old Blackman had returned to parent club Chelsea due to the extent of the injury, and the goalkeeper posted on Instagram after undergoing surgery to address the problem.
Blackman’s return to Chelsea leaves Leeds with just one senior goalkeeper in Bailey Peacock-Farrell, with many fans asking prior to the broken leg whether Blackman should replace Northern Ireland international Peacock-Farrell.
However, he will remain the club’s number one goalkeeper for the time being while England youth international Will Huffer and Kamil Miazek will fight it out for a place on the club’s substitutes’ bench.
Blackman has a contract at Chelsea until the summer of 2021 worth £8,000 a week according to Spotrac, but he is likely to be loaned out again after making just two appearances for the Whites.
