Newcastle United have made five signings so far this summer.

Jamaal Lascelles has told Newcastle United’s official website that all of the club’s new signings have impressed him.
Newcastle have made five additions to date this summer, with competition for places looking fierce at St. James’ Park.
Rafael Benitez’s side have snapped up Dwight Gayle, Matt Ritchie, Matz Sels, Jesus Gamez and Isaac Hayden already this summer.
The quintet have all been in training with their new Newcastle teammates in Ireland, and Lascelles has been impressed by their ability.

“Dwight will get us goals, Matt Ritchie is a fantastic winger, Hayden has come in and is very tidy on the ball for a young lad,” the centre-back said. “Then you’ve got Jesus and Matz as well, and suddenly the squad is looking pretty strong.
“They are great signings and good lads off the pitch as well, which is massively important.”
Newcastle are not expected to stop with their summer investment just yet, with the Tynesiders showing great ambition in the transfer market.
Newcastle appear determined to earn promotion back to the Premier League in the quickest time possible, and they have not been afraid to invest.

The Magpies have also managed to keep hold of the bulk of their squad from last season so far, leading to them being priced as 2/1 favourites to win the Championship by the bookies.
Newcastle’s competitive season gets underway with a match against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
