Newcastle United beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-0 at Molineux.
Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles has told the Shields Gazette that he wanted Jonjo Shelvey to embarrass Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Newcastle took on Wolves on Saturday, and they picked up a 1-0 victory at Molineux.
Shelvey was given a hostile reception by the Molineux crowd, after a controversial incident when the two sides met earlier in the season.

Shelvey served a five-game ban after he was deemed to have used racially-aggravated language towards Wolves midfielder Romain Saiss when the two sides met back in 2016.
And Lascelles wanted to make sure that Shelvey would not react to the criticism he was receiving from Wolves supporters.
“I just said ‘play your football and you can embarrass them by being the best player on the pitch’, and that is exactly what he did,” the Magpies captain said.

“Credit to him, he is a smart lad. He kept a cool head.”
Shelvey did indeed put in a stellar display, as Newcastle picked up a narrow victory over Paul Lambert’s side.
Aleksandar Mitrovic’s scrappy goal ended up proving the difference between the two sides.
Newcastle’s victory has strengthened their position at the top of the Championship table, with their next match coming against Norwich City.
