Newcastle United have lost two of their last three and have opened the door ever so slightly to the chasing pack.
Jamaal Lascelles has suggested that Newcastle United’s response to their start to the season should give them the belief they need to come through their current blip, the Shields Gazette reports.
The Magpies have fallen to second in the Championship and have perhaps left the door slightly open for the chasing pack after losing two of their last three, including a defeat to relegation candidates Blackburn Rovers in their most recent fixture.

But despite the recent struggles, Lascelles has pointed out how Newcastle started the campaign as a reason to believe that Rafa Benitez’s men can quickly turn things around.
“There’s nothing to worry about,” he said, as reported by the Shields Gazette.
“We lost our first two games at the start of the season, and we still managed to get over 50 points. So this is the second half of the season.
“We’ve started off with a little blip, but we’ll pick it back up and prepare for the next game like we always do.”

This is the fourth time that Newcastle have dropped points on multiple occasions over a short period of games this term, but in between those blips, they have managed to put together very impressive winning runs that should give the whole squad belief that they will quickly turn things around.
At various points during the campaign, they have put together winning runs of three, five and eight victories so it would be absolutely no surprise if they went on to put together an even more impressive streak before the end of the campaign, despite their current form, which ultimately virtually assures promotion.
