Newcastle scored both their goals against Leeds through Dwight Gayle, and they were rarely threatened during the contest.
Gayle first capitalised on a Rob Green error to put his side in the lead, before the striker added his second after a flowing team move.
Newcastle are now five points clear at the top of the Championship table, and they appear certainties to win promotion.
Newcastle’s next match comes against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, and they could extend their winning run to double figures, if they can get the three points.
