Jalen Brunson sent a blunt message to Victor Wembanyama during the New York Knicks’ title celebrations, and the moment quickly spread across social media.

Throughout the NBA Finals, the Knicks guard had steered clear of any public back-and-forth with the San Antonio Spurs star despite several flashpoints during the series.

But once New York sealed its first championship since 1973, Brunson appeared more than willing to let his feelings be known.

Jalen Brunson’s Victor Wembanyama toast goes viral

Footage from the Knicks’ family-and-friends celebration showed Brunson raising a toast while addressing the room before repeatedly shouting an explicit message aimed at Wembanyama.

“F— Wemby.”

The clip quickly gained traction online and became one of the most talked-about moments from New York’s post-championship celebrations.

Brunson had spent much of the Finals taking a measured approach when asked about incidents involving the Spurs star, making the toast stand out even more after the Knicks secured the title.

Brunson and Wembanyama had several moments during the NBA Finals

The two players were involved in a handful of notable incidents during the series. One came in Game 3 when Wembanyama shoved Brunson to the floor following a tussle between the pair.

Another occurred during Game 5 when Brunson appeared to tweak his ankle after landing near Wembanyama on a three-point attempt.

Despite those moments, Brunson consistently declined opportunities to publicly criticize the Spurs star during the Finals.

Wembanyama also spoke positively about Brunson afterward, praising the Knicks guard’s leadership and composure.

The viral celebration clip provided a very different talking point in the aftermath of New York’s championship triumph, with Finals MVP Brunson playing a central role in delivering the franchise’s first title in more than five decades.
