Fresh off his NBA Finals win, Jalen Brunson has been asked to return to Madison Square Garden by WWE World Heavyweight champion Roman Reigns.
The WWE is back at MSG this Saturday, and it promises to be a blockbuster night of wrestling action.
Brunson has been soaking in the World Cup in recent weeks, discussing the knockout games regularly on social media with teammate Josh Hart.
The Finals MVP is the hottest name in New York City, which is why Reigns personally invited him to Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Posting to his X account, Reigns said: “The OTC. The King of New York @jalenbrunson1. The Mecca …. MSG.
“Let’s have the whole world ACKNOWLEDGE us at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event!”
The card is light enough. Knicks fan Danhausen will face JD McDonagh, Paige & Brie Bella defend their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship title against Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley of Fatal Influence, and CM Punk will team up with SummerSlam opponent Cody Rhodes to take on Gunther and Sami Zayn.
So getting someone of Brunson’s caliber to make an appearance alongside Reigns will be huge for the show.
He responded: “See you there.”
It won’t be Brunson’s first foray into the wrestling world. He has made several appearances across the promotion’s shows, but we shouldn’t expect any in-ring action from a player who recently underwent wrist surgery.
Still, we can expect a huge pop when he does arrive at the Garden.
Danhausen needs help from New York Knicks
Knicks superfan and WWE superstar Danhausen has been consistently harassed by The Judgment Day, who stole the custom jersey that was gifted to him after the franchise delivered the ring in June.
They have repeatedly attacked him and trashed his lab as well, though the Knicks jersey is the bit that will sting most.
It doesn’t look like changing any time soon, either. Perhaps recruiting some of these Knicks players, who dwarf most WWE stars, would help his cause.
Just keep Brunson out of the firing line.
