The Knicks will be aiming for their fourth consecutive win when they go up against the Raptors.

New York is also looking to secure a spot in the NBA Cup semifinals with a win.

The last meeting between these teams came on November 30, when Mike Brown’s men won 116-94.

However, the Knicks will be missing one of their key players this time, someone who has been an important part of their line-up all season.

Miles McBride has been ruled out of the NBA Cup quarterfinals against the Raptors due to a left ankle sprain.

Brown reported that McBride is having an MRI, as the 25-year-old was seen leaving Knicks practice in a walking boot.

The guard has been quietly putting together a solid season, averaging 11.6 points while shooting 44.4 percent from three over 27 minutes per game.

Jalen Brunson spoke highly of what McBride has brought to the team this season, calling him an important part of their success.

“He’s been playing phenomenally. If things do happen like that, then obviously, we’re missing a huge piece of our team.

“Healthy or not, Deuce has been remarkable this year. The way he’s been shooting, the way he’s been playing defence, everything he’s been doing for this team has impacted winning.

“He’s been playing great. We’ll see how things go, but obviously, we need him.”

NY Knicks face favourable route to NBA Cup final

The Knicks are the only NBA team to reach the quarterfinals in all three years of the tournament so far.

But they have never made it past this stage, having fallen short in both prior appearances.

This time, they are up against a Raptors team that has been struggling. Toronto have dropped three straight and five of their last six games. Beyond that, they will be without RJ Barrett as well.

If New York gets through, they will meet either Orlando or Miami next, which means they will be favourites in either match-up.

They have yet to reach the final before, but everything seems to be falling into place for them this year.
