The Detroit Pistons have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA to start the season.

Just two years ago, the Detroit Pistons were at the bottom of the NBA. Since then, they’ve turned things around in impressive fashion.

During the 2024-25 NBA season, Detroit saw a huge jump in wins, going from just 14 victories in 2023-24 to 44 wins last year. The Detroit Pistons are now top of the Eastern Conference with a 10-2 record at the start of the 2025-26 season.

Jalen Brunson impressed by Ausar Thompson’s spin move in Pistons playoff series

The Pistons ended a long playoff drought last season, reaching the postseason for the first time since 2019.

They went up against the New York Knicks in the first round, stretching the series to six games before bowing out.

Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart, who faced Detroit in that series, had Joakim Noah on their Roommates Show to discuss the experience.

Noah started off by saying: “You know who I love watching? Amen Thompson. That guy right there, I love the way he hoops.”

He added: “People always say you guys don’t play defense any more, I watch him play and this guy is a dog. I like him.”

Brunson then recalled a particular moment from Game 1 involving Ausar Thompson: “He didn’t look out of control whatsoever. We all sat there on the court like [open-mouthed]. The craziest spin move I’ve ever seen, so clean… that s__ was crazy, we were all like, did that just happen?”

The Detroit Pistons look legit this season

The Pistons have turned heads to begin the year with their 10-2 start. Cade Cunningham has played like a bonafide superstar and Jalen Duren is having a breakout season becoming one of the best bigs in the league.

The Pistons got a small taste of the playoffs last season and this season they will be looking for a lot more.
