Jakub Kiwior’s £22 million move to Premier League leaders Arsenal is edging closer to completion with former MSK Zilina team-mate wishing the Poland international ‘good luck’ on his official Instagram account.
Holec will not be the only one taken by surprise as Kiwior’s rapid rise to prominence goes up a notch. As recently as 2020/21, the stylish centre-half was turning out for Zilina’s reserve team in Slovakia’s second tier.
Now, he is on the verge of joining an Arsenal side cruising five points clear at the top of the Premier League, and potentially set to end a near 20-year wait for English football’s biggest prize.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Kiwior could sign a five-and-a-half year deal at Arsenal. The Gunners will also pay £22 million up front. Thereby, handing Serie A outfit Spezia a massive profit on a player they snapped up for peanuts 18 months ago.

Kiwior, who can also play in midfield and caught the eye at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, will undergo a medical over the weekend. He could even be unveiled before Sunday’s crunch clash with arch rivals Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium.
And, judging by his choice of emoji, former Zilina team-mate Holec was not expecting to see Kiwior join one of the biggest and most historic clubs in world football so soon after they shared a dressing room together at the Stadion pod Dubnom.
‘Good luck’, Holec writes, accompanied with a ‘mind-blown’ emoji.
Kiwior is likely to provide competition for the similarly left-footed Gabriel Magalhaes at Arsenal. He will become Arteta’s second signing of the window; Brighton and Hove Albion forward Leandro Trossard confirmed as a Gunners player on Friday afternoon.
“Oh Lord, listen to me; This is a real player!” Poland legend and Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski said of his 22-year-old compatriot during the UEFA Nations League last year.
“I asked; ‘But who is he’? Then I saw him (play). Extraordinary. Really great potential.”
