Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua has been confirmed for next month in Miami, Florida.

Paul was initially set to face Gervonta Davis in an exhibition match on November 14, but that bout did not come together.

Since then, talk of a potential fight between Paul and Joshua has picked up pace.

That matchup is now officially on the calendar, but what are the rules for their December 19 clash?

A press release announcing Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua outlined key aspects of their upcoming bout.

The bout will be recognised as a professional heavyweight contest and will count towards both fighters’ official records.

Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder and CEO of Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), stated that Joshua cannot weigh more than 245lbs for the fight.

The fight is scheduled for eight three-minute rounds. Earlier this year, Paul went the distance over 10 rounds against former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., while his previous match against Mike Tyson was also a 24-minute contest.

Both fighters will wear 10-ounce gloves on fight night.

This glove size is identical to the one AJ wore for his knockout victories over opponents such as Francis Ngannou and Wladimir Klitschko. It signals that both men are taking this seriously and are not just there to mess around.

Anthony Joshua aims to break the internet

Joshua has not stepped into the ring since his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois back in September 2024.

Still, the Briton has said he plans to come back in a big way and ‘break the internet’ when he faces Paul.

“Jake or anyone can get this work. No mercy. I took some time out, and I’m coming back with a mega show. It’s a big opportunity for me,” he stated on the press release.

“Whether you like it or not, I’m here to do massive numbers, have big fights and break every record whilst keeping cool, calm and collected. Mark my words, you’ll see a lot more fighters take these opportunities in the future.”

Joshua finished by saying: “I’m about to break the internet over Jake Paul’s face.”
