Jake Paul has put out a short statement about his upcoming fight.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer was due to meet Gervonta Davis in an exhibition match, but the fight was called off.

Paul is now looking to reschedule and find a new opponent, with speculation already building around who he’ll step into the ring with next.

Rumours had been swirling for days, and Jake finally addressed them after news broke of the Miami showdown being finalised.

Jake Paul has dismissed claims that he’ll return to the ring in 2025. The 28-year-old believes ‘too many yes men’ could keep him out until next year. “Not holding my breath for 2025,” Paul tweeted on Thursday. “Too many yes men.”

Paul, however, didn’t rule out going to the Las Vegas Grand Prix on November 23, though he doesn’t expect to be fighting Joshua in December. Only time will tell if he’s genuinely pulling back or just playing a familiar role in the buildup to another major event.

Promoter’s take on Paul vs Joshua

Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua’s promoter, has poured cold water on talk that a fight with Jake Paul is already set in stone.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Hearn said: “The gun was jumped a little bit and fired early.”

He went on to explain that the fight isn’t close to being finalised just yet, and that there are still a number of steps to be taken before any formal agreement can be reached.

Jake Paul believes he could defeat Anthony Joshua

While the two sides are clearly not as close as initially reported, Hearn did say discussions have taken place and there is genuine interest in making the fight happen.

Jake Paul predicts his fight with Anthony Joshua: “I want to fight Anthony Joshua because I know I will f— beat Anthony Joshua’s a–. He doesn’t have a chin, he’s stiff, and he’s got no skill.”*

Hearn acknowledged the discussions but stressed nothing is close yet: “There have been conversations. We’re considering it and, at the moment, there is work to be done.”

He didn’t rule it out — but made his stance clear: “Could it happen? Yes, it could. Should Jake Paul be fighting Anthony Joshua? No. Is he [Paul] mad to do it? Yes.”

And as always, the money factor looms large: “Is there tens and tens and tens and tens of millions of dollars for Anthony Joshua to have an eight-round run-out against Jake Paul? Yes.”
