Jake Paul has announced that he required a second operation on his broken jaw after his knockout defeat to Anthony Joshua.
The social media star turned professional boxer shared the update online, explaining that complications from his first surgery meant he had to return under the knife.
Paul sustained the injury during his December showdown with the former heavyweight champion.

Paul says recovery setback led to new surgery
Jake Paul stated that the plates and screws inserted during his initial procedure began to loosen because he did not rest sufficiently during recovery.
As a result, doctors were required to perform a second surgery to address the issue. The development marks another setback in the aftermath of one of the most talked-about bouts of his career.
“Had to get another jaw surgery. The screws and plates were coming loose because apparently I didn’t rest for the past 2 months whaattttttttt.”
Paul first disclosed that he had suffered a double broken jaw after being stopped in the sixth round of the December 19 contest in Miami.
Joshua knockout caused fracture in two places
Anthony Joshua secured the finish with a right hand in the sixth round of their non-title heavyweight fight, sending Paul to the canvas.
Medical examinations later confirmed that Paul’s jaw had been fractured in two places, leading to surgery the following day with titanium plates inserted on both sides.
Despite the damage, Paul maintained a positive tone immediately afterward. “I’m feeling good. That was fun. I love this sport and I had a blast.”
“We will heal the broken jaw, come back and fight people my weight. I’m going for the cruiserweight world title.”
The defeat moved Paul’s record to 12-2, while Joshua advanced to 29-4.
Although the additional procedure is likely to delay his return, Paul has reiterated his determination to compete again once fully healed.
