Jake Paul is bringing in some serious help ahead of his upcoming fight with Anthony Joshua.
Jake Paul has turned to some of the division’s biggest hitters as he gears up for his blockbuster showdown with former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. The fight, scheduled for December 19, was announced only weeks after Paul’s planned bout with Gervonta Davis collapsed due to an ongoing investigation into allegations against “Tank.”
The pair came face to face for the first time at last week’s press conference, where the stark size difference served as a reminder of the scale of the task ahead. Nonetheless, Paul continues to draw unlikely backing — including from Nate Diaz, who has placed a sizeable bet on the 28-year-old to pull off what would be the most shocking upset in boxing history.

Paul welcomes top-tier heavyweights into his camp
To give himself the best possible chance, Paul has filled his camp with elite heavyweight sparring partners. Among them is Jared Anderson, the highly rated American contender boasting an 18–1 record. Anderson has been linked to an IBF final eliminator that would determine the mandatory challenger for unified champion Oleksandr Usyk.
His rumored opponent for that bout, Frank Sanchez, has also been spotted training with Paul in the lead-up to fight night. Adding to the lineup is British heavyweight titleholder Lawrence Okolie, who has offered sparring rounds to help Paul adjust to Joshua’s physicality and power. It’s the most formidable training collection Paul has assembled to date — and a clear statement that he is taking the challenge seriously.
Can Jake Paul actually upset Anthony Joshua?
Paul has faced constant skepticism throughout his boxing journey, but his performances have gradually forced critics to acknowledge his progress. Beating Joshua would catapult him into a different stratosphere entirely, opening the door to major fights — and potentially even a shot at a world title, the long-term goal he has repeatedly stated.
The odds remain firmly stacked against him, but with the level of preparation and heavyweight expertise around him, Paul is doing everything he can to make the unthinkable possible on December 19.
