Jake Paul clearly fancies himself a Liverpool fan.

The American social media personality-turned-boxer has been photographed rocking a full Reds kit on a number of occasions in recent weeks.

And when he turned up to Paris for Liverpool’s Champions League final with Real Madrid tonight, perhaps his affection for the club was a tiny bit more credible than it seemed originally.

But then he started tweeting.

Originally Paul expressed support for the thousands of Liverpool supporters initially denied entry to Stade de France in ugly pre-match scenes which involved ticket-holding fans being teargassed by French police.

Here’s how the 25-year-old social media star reacted on Twitter:

And once kickoff finally occurred, albeit more than half-an-hour later than scheduled, Paul continued to show his support for Jurgen Klopp’s side on social media with his post about Karim Benzema’s disallowed goal on the stroke of half time.

But then Paul appeared to be rather apathetic to Vinicius Junior’s opening goal against Liverpool – the goal which ultimately cost Klopp’s troops a seventh Champions League title in what was a 1-0 defeat.

At full time, he admitted that he hated the result but sang the praises of Real Madrid players nonetheless.

Paul, worth a reported $30 million, is slowly but surely beginning to be accepted into the boxing community following a series of victories against legitimate opponents in the world of combat sport – including Tyron Woodley, a win which earned him $2 million, reported by MMA Junkie.

In fact, considering that Eddie Hearn is now an acquaintance, you could say he is definitely a lot more accepted in this world than when he first began to make forays into it.

However, being accepted by Liverpool supporters is much harder and, based on the care-free nature of his tweets, and shouting out his ‘brother’ Vinicius, he probably never will be considered one of them, by one of them.

Despite owning a shirt, and going to the game tonight, Jake Paul probably isn’t a bonafide Liverpool fan.
