Jake Paul’s next fight is just days away and ahead of his return to the ring, he’s spoken candidly about facing Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Now sitting at 9-1 as a professional, Paul is looking to make it three wins on the bounce. But Chavez Jr brings a different level of experience to the ring. The Mexican has fought the best – including Canelo Alvarez – and has scored big knockouts during his 62-fight career.

Heading into the bout, Paul has been open about the challenge that Chavez Jr presents, even admitting the former world champion ranks above anyone he’s faced before.

“I would say Chavez is most likely going to be the toughest opponent [I have faced yet], the most experienced, literally the most amount of fights out of all of my opponents,” Paul said during an interview with DAZN Boxing.

Standing at 6’1″ tall with a reach of 76 inches, Paul has the physical tools to fight as a cruiserweight. But for his match against Chavez Jr, he needs to cut down to 185lbs.

And he’s not hiding the challenge of hitting that mark. Paul recently revealed that with less than two weeks to go, he weighs in at 200.6lbs, meaning he has to shed around 15lbs before fight night.

Jake Paul rips into Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford ahead of super fight

The upcoming Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford fight will be part of Dana White’s first-ever boxing event with TKO Boxing, streaming live on Netflix.

The event played a key role in disrupting Paul’s plans to face Alvarez, who boasts an impressive record of 63 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses.

In the build-up, Canelo and Crawford were seen dining together alongside Turki Alalshikh – the same man who prevented Paul from fighting Canelo – and Paul took the chance to criticise their meet-up, calling it “goofy.”
