Jake Paul is warning Deontay Wilder of legal consequences after the American heavyweight suggested Friday’s fight between Paul and Anthony Joshua could be ‘scripted’.

The Paul vs Joshua bout takes place at the Kaseya Center in Miami and will be broadcast live on Netflix. Speculation around this particular event has ramped up because many see it as such a one-sided matchup that anything short of a quick knockout for Joshua would raise eyebrows.

Such allegations, if true, would fall under serious criminal offences. ‘The Problem Child’ has since brought in legal counsel to challenge these statements and defend himself against accusations of being involved in rigged fights.

Paul and AJ faced off on fight week for the first time, following their final press conference. The size difference was still noticeable, but Paul had moved away from his earlier respectful tone and started to speak out against his opponent and others.

One person who caught his attention was Deontay Wilder, who told Bloody Elbow during a recent trip to Dubai that he feared the event might be rigged. There was no evidence to support this claim, which Paul has strongly denied multiple times.

Responding to questions about the match being rigged, Paul said: “I give them a cease and desist letter through their door. Then the lawsuit is coming right after because these people will not stop lying.

“I honestly take it as a compliment but people need to shut the f— up. As for Deontay Wilder, he’s been hit a lot by Tyson Fury so he’s clearly not the smartest guy. There’s nothing in the contract, AJ can attest to it that we’re going to war. At the end of the day, that’s what all of my fights have been like.”

Joshua also addressed the accusation briefly, stating that there was “nothing in the contract” preventing him from going all out against Paul.
