Alan Pardew was appointed as West Bromwich Albion’s new boss last week.
West Brom appointed Pardew as their manager last week as they desperately try to end their plight in the Premier League. Tony Pulis oversaw his last victory during his time in charge back in August, and the Baggies now find themselves involved in a potential relegation scrap.
Pardew was unable to end their winless run during his first game, but there were certainly some positive signs during their goalless draw with Crystal Palace at the weekend. And Livermore suggested that the players are noticing the changes since Pardew came in also.
“The new manager has come in and he’s been fantastic,” he told the club’s official website.
“He has shown the positivity he wants us to show – he’s shown the belief that he’s got in us to go forward.
“It’s not panic stations just yet! We have some great players in the dressing room and some great staff as well.”
West Brom arguably have their best squad since the start of the Premier League era, and given the ambition that they showed in the summer transfer window, it would certainly be no surprise if they were able to make a couple of excellent additions in January.
Given that quality and the boost that Pardew’s arrival appears to have given the side, it seems highly possible that the Baggies could well drag themselves away from danger quite comfortably before the campaign reaches the business end.
But with an away trip to Swansea coming up next, West Brom will know that ending their wait for a win in their next game could be extremely important to making sure that the confidence stays high as the Swans are certainly in an even worse situation.
