Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Jak Alnwick has expressed his happiness at playing for the Ibrox side’s development side for the first time.

Alnwick joined Rangers from Port Vale during the January transfer window, but he has had to bide his time for chances.

Alnwick is yet to make his debut for the Glasgow side, with Wes Foderingham remaining as first choice.

To ensure that he remained sharp, the former Newcastle United man turned out for Rangers under-20’s yesteday.

And Alnwick kept a clean-sheet, as Rangers picked up a 1-0 victory over Kilmarnock.

In what was a close encounter, David Bates headed home the winner in the last minute.

Despite keeping a clean sheet, Alnwick is likely to remain on the substitutes’ bench for Rangers’ next match, which comes against St. Johnstone at Ibrox later this evening.

Rangers will close the gap on Aberdeen in second to six points, if they are able to pick up the win this evening.
