Tottenham Hotspur are supposedly set to be the subject of a $3.75bn takeover bid fronted by Jahm Najafi.

The Financial Times report that the Iran-born businessman is keen on buying Spurs.

Najafi is reportedly keen on the idea of becoming the new owner of Tottenham Hotspur, and one of the main questions that needs answering whenever a new owner arrives in the Premier League is how much money do they have?

These days, you have to be a multi-billionaire to own a Premier League club, so, what is Jahm Najafi’s net worth?

What is Jahm Najafi’s net worth

Jahm Najafi is an Iranian-American businessman and entrepreneur with a net worth of $3.5 billion according to The Paddock Magazine as of 2021.

He is the founder and CEO of Najafi Companies, a private investment firm that focuses on a broad range of industries including consumer media, entertainment, and real estate.

Born in Iran, Najafi moved to the United States at the age of 12. He learned English through watching the Phoenix Suns and he went on to earn a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin before going on to receive an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Najafi started his career in banking. Since then though he has started his own business. Najafi Companies has invested in a variety of successful businesses including, BMG Music Service, and eventually the Phoenix Suns where he remains a minority shareholder.

Perhaps the most well-known product Nafaji owns is Sure deodorant.

As you can see, this is a businessman with his fingers in a lot of pies, and that supplies him with a healthy cashflow each year.

How can he afford Spurs?

Someone with a net worth of $3.5bn bidding $3.75bn for Tottenham Hotspur doesn’t add up, does it? There’s $250m unaccounted for here.

So, how can Nafaji afford to be fronting up this bid for Spurs?

Well, 30% of this bid is going to be backed by investors from the middle east – namely Abu Dhabi, so we have to imagine that a fair share of the capital is coming from elsewhere.

Najafi seems to have a number of investors behind him, but it remains to be seen whether or not this takeover attempt is successful at Tottenham.
