Jacob Murphy was not even on the substitutes’ bench when Newcastle United took on Bournemouth.

Jacob Murphy has reason to be concerned, after being left out of Newcastle United’s match day squad against Bournemouth.
Murphy was not named in Rafael Benitez’s 18-man squad to take on the Cherries, with the wide-man frozen out.
The 23-year-old was not thought to be injured, with Benitez simply preferring other options, and that must be a concern for Murphy.

Prior to the January transfer window, Murphy had forced his way into Newcastle’s line-up and was proving a threat.
The England youth international provided a goal and an assist in his last two starts for Newcastle, but all of a sudden he has lost his place.

The arrival of Kenedy has pushed Murphy back down the pecking order, and it is now three games since the winger last featured.
Murphy now faces a fight to win his place back again, and if he continues to be overlooked, then his stay on Tyneside could be a short one.
