Jacob Bedeau has left Aston Villa and signed for League One side Scunthorpe United.
Aston Villa defender Jacob Bedeau has thanked supporters on Twitter after he made a permanent switch to Scunthorpe United on deadline day.
Championship side Villa confirmed on their official Twitter account that defensive powerhouse Bedeau has joined the League One outfit on a free transfer.
The 19-year-old moved to the Midlands outfit in 2017 from Bury when Steve Bruce was in charge of the club, but under his stewardship and now Dean Smith’s, he failed to make a senior appearance.
Instead, he played a number of matches for Villa’s under-23’s playing in Premier League 2 as he will now be seeking first-team football with Scunthorpe.
After Villa confirmed his departure, Bedeau sent this message to supporters on his personal Twitter account as he is looking forward to his new chapter.
Over the course of this season, in Premier League 2, Bedeau played 13 matches for his side, helping them secure four clean sheets, according to transfermarkt.
He now moves to a team that is currently plying its trade in the third tier of English football, six points from safety and 12 points outside of the playoff places.
It remains to be seen if he is thrown straight into the first-team action, with Scunthorpe travelling to Yorkshire at the weekend to take on promotion hopefuls Barnsley.
