Jackson Koivun and Miles Russell are two of the most talented young golfers on the planet.
With that in mind, golf fans were handed a real treat when Koivun and Russell were paired together on day three of the US Open at Shinnecock Hills.
Both Koivun and Russell shot respectable rounds of 74 on Saturday at Shinnecock Hills, and they have a genuine chance of finishing inside the top 25 at the US Open with a strong round on Sunday.

Koivun has already really impressed numerous PGA Tour players, Ludvig Aberg included.
However, Russell is just as talented, and he’s four years younger than Koivun.
What Jackson Koivun thinks of Miles Russell after playing with him at the US Open
Russell earned a rave review from Padraig Harrington on Thursday at Shinnecock Hills.
And after his round on Saturday, Koivun spoke very highly of the 17-year-old amateur as well.
“It was good. I hadn’t spent a lot of time with him in the past. He’s a great kid, obviously a great player. We had a fun day,“ Koivun said.

“I mean, amateur golf is in a great spot right now. The college kids are definitely showing off, showing off how good they are. For five of us to make it through, it’s quite impressive.
“I’ve met him in passing, but this is the first time I’ve got to spend some time with him.
“He’s been in the game for a while and is just such a good player. Just nothing but good remarks for him.“
Future of American golf in good hands with Koivun and Russell
Russell clearly has an exceptionally exciting future lying ahead of him, as does Koivun.
It would be no surprise whatsoever to see both players link up with one another at the Ryder Cup for the United States in the not-too-distant future.
It’s fair to suggest that Jackson Koivun and Miles Russell will also enjoy plenty of battles against each other at the US Open over the next two decades or so.
The future of American golf is in very good hands with Koivun and Russell leading the charge.
