Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has confirmed that his side are hoping to sign Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Jonny Williams.
Williams has struggled to make an impact at Selhurst Park this season and it seems that the Premier League club have decided to make him available for loan.
Wolves feel he would be a good addition for their squad and Jackett wants to rush through a transfer before today’s deadline.
Convincing Williams to join could be difficult, though, as Wolves face competition from Nottingham Forest, according to London24.
The Reds reportedly believe Williams would bring poise and skill to their midfield and want him to add further quality to their attacking unit.
Would Williams be a good buy for Wolves?
Wolves already have one of the best attacking forces in the second tier, but Williams would add further quality to their squad.
The Welsh international is a diminutive presence, but he has already shown his class at Championship level and he would bring a lot of creativity to the side.
That could help Wolves in the run in, as they try and mount of promotion push. At the moment Jackett’s men are just two points away from the play-off places and an injection of quality could be all that it takes for them to breach that gap.
What would Williams bring to Forest?
Dougie Freedman has already worked with Williams so he would know all about the midfielder’s quality.
Forest are outsiders to make the play-offs, but Freedman has not given up hope and has already brought in Modou Barrow on loan from Swansea City in recent times.
Williams’ arrival would enhance his attacking options even further and he could be an exciting addition for the club.
