Jack Wilshere of Arsenal celebrates victory with fans during the Carabao Cup Semi-Final Second Leg at Emirates Stadium on January 24, 2018 in London, England.

Jack Wilshere has suggested to The Mirror that he wants to end his career at West Ham United.

Wilshere has joined West Ham in the summer transfer window on a free after leaving Premier League rivals Arsenal at the end of last season.

The 26-year-old midfielder grew up as a West Ham fan, and the England international has suggested that he wants to end his career at the London club.

Wilshere told The Mirror: “I’m not a player who likes to move a lot. So I wanted to join a club where I’m hopefully going to be at until the end of my career.

“And I want to build something like I had at Arsenal and really try and achieve something at a club.”

Long-term West Ham United stay

Wilshere has had injury issues throughout his career, but the midfielder is a quality footballer when he is fully fit and on song.

If the Englishman remains fit, then he could prove to be a brilliant long-term signing for the Hammers.

Given that the 26-year-old is a West Ham fan, if the London club are successful in the coming years, then Wilshere will have no reason to leave.

Of course, it must be remembered that Wilshere is a long, long way from retirement, but it is quite encouraging that he wants to stay at West Ham for the rest of his career.
