Manchester City are said to be interested in the Arsenal midfielder.

Last night it was reported that Manchester City were very keen on bringing Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere to the club this summer.
The Sun reported that Pep Guardiola had placed Wilshere at the top of his summer wish-list to for a strong midfield along with fellow new signing Ilkay Gundogan and potentially another new recruit.
Guardiola is known to be a long-term admirer of Wilshere and wants homegrown players to boost the club’s quota for the Champions League.

But surely Wilshere won’t leave Arsenal, even if The Sun report suggests he would be tempted?
Well the player has stated in the past he will never leave Arsenal, as reported by The Independent in 2011. Fair point, but Wayne Rooney was ‘Always A Blue’ remember?
In fact, in 2015 he made it clear he would never leave Arsenal to just make up the numbers as a home-grown player – as reported by Sky Sports.

However, he has also mentioned one condition that could see him depart his beloved Gunners. In 2013, as reported by The Sun, the England international stated he could leave Arsenal if Arsene Wenger departs:
“I want to win things with Arsenal and I want to be there in the future, but if the boss leaves then things could change.
“Arsenal are always in my heart and by signing a deal for the next five years shows my commitment to them and their commitment to me…”
Of course Wenger does not seem to be going anywhere but that is not what should be worrying Arsenal fans.

With his injury problems of late, the Guardiola factor and a more realistic chance of silverware there is no doubt that Wilshere will be tempted to try something new if City seriously come calling.
In fact, a betting man would be shrewd to put some money on it.
