Jack Wilshere praises his Tottenham-based England teammates.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has gone on to praise the Tottenham Hotspur players present in the England squad.
Given his lifelong association with Arsenal, it goes without saying that Jack Wilshere is not particularly fond of Tottenham Hotspur.
Making his feelings towards Tottenham very clear, Wilshere had famously led foul-mouthed anti-Spurs chants during Arsenal’s FA Cup victory parade last season and the midfielder was duly fined by the FA for his actions.
With five Tottenham players in Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Dele Alli being called up for the England national team for the upcoming European Championships though, Wilshere has had the chance to work closely with his rivals and the 24-year-old has now gone on to make a surprising admission.
Wilshere has stated that the Spurs’ quintet have impressed him a lot and has also revealed that they are ‘great lads’. The Arsenal star was quoted saying in the Daily Mirror, “The Spurs boys have impressed me. They’re doing well. They’re good players and they’re great lads as well.
“It was actually my first meet-up with them. Last time I was playing none of them were there, I think Andros Townsend was the only Spurs player in the squad. I get on with them. Everyone expects me to say I don’t, but I get on with them. They’re a great group of lads.”
