Jack Wilshere has reacted to West Ham United’s move for Joe Hart.
West Ham United have secured the signature of Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart – and Jack Wilshere appears to be impressed with the deal.
The Hammers had already swooped to sign Pablo Zabaleta on a free transfer to boost their back line, and they have now reunited Zabaleta with his former Manchester City team-mate Hart.
England’s Joe Hart
Hart, 30, had been frozen out by City boss Pep Guardiola last summer, leading the England international to join Torino on a season-long loan deal before returning to City earlier this summer.
With no change to his situation under Guardiola, Hart is heading out on loan again, as he has joined West Ham on a season-long loan deal, where he should immediately become first choice.
Given that neither Adrian nor Darren Randolph managed to impress consistently last season, Hart represents a real upgrade for West Ham, and he should feature regularly for Slaven Bilic’s men.
The move has sparked a reaction from West Ham fans, as well as Hart’s former England international team-mate Jack Wilshere, who took to Twitter to react to the deal on Tuesday night.
Jack Wilshere
Wilshere – who has speculation surrounding his future at Arsenal – suggested that Hart is a great signing for West Ham, which unsurprisingly triggered a number of responses from Hammers fans.
Many West Ham supporters tweeted Wilshere begging him to join the club, even sending messages to club officials urging them to get a deal done – and with the Daily Mail noting that Wilshere has been told he can leave Arsenal, he should really be on West Ham’s radar this summer.
