Amani Richards has taken to Instagram to confirm he has left Arsenal, after the Gunners confirmed he has completed a move to Leicester. It comes less than a year after he joined Arsenal from Chelsea’s youth academy.
Richards, 17, joined Arsenal in March 2021 from Chelsea’s academy and clocked up 13 appearances for the club’s Under-18 side – scoring three goals. He even appeared on one occasion for Arsenal’s Under-23 side.
But less than a year after his move to the Gunners, Richards has completed a permanent move to Leicester – as confirmed by the club itself on deadline day in January. That is even after signing a professional deal at Leicester.
The youngster has posted on Instagram after some speculation regarding his future – confirming that he has indeed, left Arsenal less than a year after joining the club. He says he “can’t wait for what’s next”.

The youngster will surely find his chances of Premier League 2 football dramatically improve, at Leicester. Not only that, but his pathway is likely to be less blocked than it is at Arsenal.
Brendan Rodgers is known for having faith in youth – the likes of Luke Thomas and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are first-team regulars. Ben Nelson, Lewis Brunt and Kasey McAteer were all on the bench against Newcastle.
Wilshere, who is working with Arsenal’s academy and training with the senior side, responded to Richards’ post – wishing him luck. Marcelo Flores also commented.
