Jack Wilshere has said on talkSPORT (4:45pm, October 14, 2021) that he does not think that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane will join Newcastle United.

Newcastle United rumour

Among the many players linked with Newcastle is Tottenham striker Kane.

Eurosport reported this week that Newcastle’s new owners are keeping an eye on Kane’s situation at Tottenham.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) are very keen on the England international striker.

PIF reportedly believe that the 28-year-old could transform Newcastle.

Jack Wilshere’s verdict

Former Arsenal midfielder Wilshere believes that Kane will not join Newcastle from Tottenham in the January transfer window.

Wilshere said about Kane on talkSPORT (4:45pm, October 14, 2021): “I am not sure that he will go to Newcastle in January.

“He obviously wanted to go to City, he talks about City, he talks about De Bruyne, I don’t know if Tottenham will sell.”

Unlikely Newcastle transfer

In football, never say never.

We all know that strange transfers happen and will happen.

However, we find it really hard to envisage Kane leaving Spurs for Newcastle in the January transfer window.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will surely not sell his best player to Newcastle after he reportedly opposed the Magpies’ takeover by PIF.

Moreover, we do not think that Kane – who earns £200,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac – will be keen on leaving Spurs for a club who are about to start a new project.
