West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere is fighting for first-team football.

West Ham United midfielder Jack Wilshere has told Sky Sports that he thinks the squad depth at the club is something rarely seen in recent years.
The Hammers have impressed so far this season, though did squander a 1-0 lead against Crystal Palace to lose 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
That means Manuel Pellegrini needs to come up with a response over the international break, and takes his side to face Everton when they do return.
Pellegrini did try and make changes against Palace to alter the flow of the game, including bringing on midfielder Wilshere for winger Andriy Yarmolenko.
The change seemed a little strange, and didn’t help West Ham get back into the game, and Wilshere has now commented on his role at the London Stadum.
Wilshere, who is on a massive £100,000-a-week (Spotrac), has only ever started six Premier League games for the Hammers, and fans are still waiting for him to really make an impact.
Wilshere has admitted that he wants to be playing after recovering from a long injury lay-off, but suggested he’s seeing squad depth that West Ham have rarely encountered, believing there are two players for every position, which hasn’t happened often.

The 27-year-old was adamant that he has a great relationship with boss Pellegrini, and just hopes to take his chance if the Chilean gives him a game.
“I wanna be playing, but I understand as well that I’ve come back from a long injury,” said Wilshere. “I think the good thing about West Ham at the minute, which they probably haven’t had in previous years, is in each position, there’s two good players, so you have to be working hard in training, when you get your opportunity you have to take it, and hopefully the manager sticks with you.”
“I have a good relationship with the manager. He brought me to the club, he was really integral in bringing me to the club, he was one of the main reasons I came to the club, because he’s a good manager. He’s proven with top players and top clubs, and we have a good relationship,” he added.
