Slaven Bilic is under pressure already at West Ham United after an inauspicious start to the new season.

The Hammers were thrashed 4-0 in the opening game of the season at Manchester United and they followed that up with a roller coaster 3-2 defeat to Southampton last time out.

Seven goals conceded in two games tells it’s own story and such is the life of a Premier League manager nowadays Slaven Bilic is already under pressure.

According to The Mirror West Ham’s owners David Sullivan and David Gold are already preparing contingency plans to replace the Croatian should their form not improve.

There is a mitigating factor for Bilic as he has had to play his first four games of the new season away from home due to the IAAF World Championships being held at the London Stadium.

Sullivan and Gold have allowed Bilic to enter the last year of his contract and the club’s performances this season will surely dictate whether he is offered a new deal.

Now Jack Sullivan, the son of Hammers co-owner David and chairman of the club’s ladies side, has revealed when the owners would start to worry in a Q&A session with the Three Hammers podcast.

It was put to Sullivan that fans will start worrying if they fail to beat newly-promoted Newcastle and Huddersfield in their next two Premier League games.

And his response offered an insight into the thinking of the Hammers hierarchy.

“I think one of the most important things with that, it won’t be just the fans worrying,” Sullivan told The Three Hammers podcast.

“We are fans, but we’ll be worrying as well, the last thing we want to see is us lose 4-0 to Man United, obviously it wasn’t ideal but I think six points (from the first four games) is very realistic.

“If we don’t get six points from those games, I would personally be disappointed in that.

“Maybe I’m thinking we’re better than we are but … if you really want to be where we want to be we’ve got to go get six points out of those games. Those are the games you’ve got to go and win.”
